The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an autonomous statutory body established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. It is responsible for regulating and supervising food safety in India.

FSSAI Logo Display
All food products must display the FSSAI license number and logo on packaging. The 14-digit license number format indicates the state, year, and type of license.
Penalties
- Operating without license: Up to Rs. 5 lakhs
- Substandard food: Up to Rs. 5 lakhs
- Unsafe food: Up to Rs. 10 lakhs or imprisonment
